Since its foundation in 1974, Llanhari has been one of the cornerstones of Welsh medium education in South Wales. We place great emphasis on the welfare and individual needs of each pupil and we are proud of the close relationship between pupils and staff.
In September 2012 we saw Ysgol Llanhari develop into a school which delivers education to pupils from the age of 3 years old to 19 years old. This is a pioneering development, and we celebrate the fact that the Local Authority has invested a significant amount of money to refurbish a block in the school which will be home to 240 primary aged pupils when full. The potential for such an educational establishment is endless and we look forward to a very successful future where pupils are given truly unique experiences.
We aim to develop individuals who have the skills required for life in the twenty first century, and we place great emphasis on their natural bilingualism. The school has a team of staff who are pioneering in aspects of teaching and learning, and the fruits of their endeavours can be seen in challenging and exciting lessons.
Our aim is for every individual to enjoy the educational experience whilst having the opportunity to develop fully as a person. By providing pupils with a variety of opportunities to develop as individual learners, the essential foundations for learning, self-worth and self-esteem, are nurtured and developed.
The school is very grateful for a supportive and hard working Governing Body and a totally committed body of parents. I’m sure that, together, we will see Teulu Ysgol Llanhari flourish and prosper in many different ways in the future.
