Congratulations to all the pupils and staff at Ysgol Llanhari for a fantastic day of competition in the School Eisteddfod which was held recently.
The lead changed hands many times during the day but Trisant were the eventual victors by one point only over a disappointed Hari! For the fourth year running, budding poet Gwynfor Dafydd from year 13, won the chair competition for Key Stage Four and Five pupils whereas year 9 pupil Joseff Kirkman won the inaugural Key Stage Three chair. Both boys were awarded a personalised chair crafted by Mr Alun Evans from the Technology department.
It was a pleasure to welcome pupils from the foundation phase who performed a traditional Welsh folk dance to honour the chaired bards. The chairing of the bard ceremony was the climax of an exciting and hotly contested day of competition between the three houses Aran, Hari and Trisant. The prize for the best stage performance from all competitions was won by the Trisant Girls’Choir, who were coached by three year 12 pupils, Carys, Alys and Angharad.
