Phenomenal GCSE results at Ysgol Llanhari as year 11 pupils improve on last year’s success
Once again this year, year 11 pupils and teachers at Ysgol Llanhari have in no uncertain terms, reaped the benefits of hard graft and perseverance this summer as the GCSE results were announced this week. These outstanding results have built on the firm foundations set by last year’s cohort with 100% of the pupils attaining 5 A*- C in GCSE or equivalent qualifications again this year. Notably this year, an outstanding 80% of the pupils achieved 5A*-C grades including English, Welsh and Maths with 21% of the cohort achieving five or more A*/A grades. Seven pupils achieved A*-A grades in at least twelve subjects and another highlight is the fact that 96% of the pupils achieved an A*-C grade in either Welsh or English. The school celebrated yet another set of excellent examination results which saw pupils across the ability range achieving their goals, reflecting their dedication to their studies. The boys have been leading the way this year at Llanhari as the school bucks the national trend with boys outperforming the girls in many key indicators. Staff and parents are delighted that the pupils have fulfilled their potential and look forward to welcoming them back to the sixth form where they can further build on this firm foundation for their future studies. Congratulations!
